Soffiya Siddiqui is a counselor in training currently attending the Family Institute at Northwestern University. She also holds a Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD) from Midwestern University in Downers Grove, IL as well as a BA in Elementary Education from Northeastern Illinois University. Soffiya is fluent in Urdu, a language spoken in the Indian subcontinent and in Pakistan.
Soffiya’s interests include working with clients from cross cultural backgrounds. She is passionate about women’s empowerment in minority communities. She is also interested with immigrant families adapt to a new “American” culture while retaining their identities of their culture of origin.
Soffiya has studied various theories applied in psychotherapy and gravitates toward psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, and humanistic approaches to therapy.
