Alcohol & Drug Evaluations

  • At Counseling Speaks, we are licensed to provide DUI Evaluations for the Court and the Secretary of State.

For your appointment, please bring a copy of the ticket(s) and any related paperwork from your DUI arrest(s), along with a current Court Purposes Driver’s Abstract to complete the Evaluation. (The Driver’s Abstract can be picked up at any driver’s license facility or you can also use the following link to get a copy by mail.)

  • If you were arrested for offenses other than DUI, a judge may order an alcohol and drug evaluation. Our counselors can provide you with a comprehensive evaluation in accordance with the court order.

  • If you are a transportation employee who has violated DOT alcohol and/or drug rules and regulations, our trained staff can to evaluate you and make treatment recommendations.

DUI Counseling & Education Services

  • Completion of 10 hours of Risk Education is required if you’re classified Minimal, Moderate or Significant Risk.

These psychoeducational groups focus on the impact of alcohol and drug use on behavior.

  • If you’re Moderate Risk (along with 10 hours of Risk Education) you’re required to complete 12 hours of Early Intervention. Early Intervention is a group counseling class that helps you develop personal plans that prepare you to engage in healthy decision-making when it comes to driving and alcohol/drug use.

  • Both Significant and High Risk designations require Substance Use Counseling. We recommended group counseling in order to help you complete these counseling requirements in an efficient, yet effective manner.

However, if you choose, our counselors can work with you individually.

  • After successful completion of Significant or High-Risk counseling, most courts require you to meet with your counselor on a monthly basis to solidify the personal growth you have made throughout the process.

  • When you make an appointment with Counseling Speaks to obtain your treatment documents, you can rest-assured that our staff are up-to-date with the Secretary of State’s requirements for paperwork to meet Secretary of State formal and informal hearing requirements.

We’ll provide you with the documents needed and explain in detail each document’s purpose so you’re prepared for your hearing.
